Who We Are
Wood Post Brackets is a veteran owned family business in Madison, Indiana. We have been operating under Madison Iron and Wood for several years now but wanted to have a website that helped our customers who primarily purchase brackets from us. Also, we wanted to expand our bracket collections so they would have all the bracket items needed for their application. So, in 2024 we decided to start a whole new website for you! We still operate Madison Iron and Wood website business and have the same great quality, but this is more tailored to the needs of contractors and building professionals.
The core of our business is being different from other bracket manufacturers.
(Yes we know that sounds cliche, but we mean it!)
We do this in several ways:
- We offer a lot of unique designs such as our Industrial, Gothic, Aztec, Colonial style brackets and many, many more. That way you have a distinct look for your home to match your aesthetics that are specific to your design. We know you put a lot of time into your project, and you want to differentiate yourself from others as a builder or in your own project.
- We offer colors! I mean, it worked for Henry Ford to keep all the cars black. But I know customers need options. If we don’t have your color, I’m sure we can work together to find the perfect match for your application. Our brackets are finished in a high quality powdercoat, and we offer zinc powdercoat undercoating for special applications. Ask your big box store to do that and see what look you get.
- Don’t see what you need? We make custom brackets for custom applications all the time! In fact, that is our specialty. Things like fan brackets, and different size header to beam connections are a part of building, and many times there just aren’t brackets available for that. That is where we come in. We are a fabrication shop that designs, cuts, bends, welds, paint… brackets specifically for you.
- Quality and aesthetics. Let’s face it. You have made a work of art out of your custom wood build, and you’re going to just put some random grey looking brackets or some brackets that are not sized for your application, so it just looks out of place? No, you’re not that person, and if you’re reading this, we know you’re not. Contact us and we will make it fit for you. Want an Anchor cut in the middle of your bracket for aesthetics… no problem, contact us and we will make it happen!

We will increasingly start to stock some of our more common brackets for quick shipment and we will put that on the listing, but because of the variety of different options we are offering, we will make most of our items to order at the time of order. This way you know that you are getting something unique and special for your build!
Again, our business is a family run business, and the owner is a US Army Veteran. All our brackets are made in Madison Indiana from steel made here in the United States. So, you know you are getting a quality product.
